| 1. What happens if I forget to make my picks? |
If you are unable or forget to make your picks for any given week, you will be given all the road teams for that week. You will be awarded 100 points for each road team win, but will not earn bonus points.
Please note that we will only provide you "automatic picks" three times throughout the season. After the third time, you will earn no points for any round you miss. |
| 2. On the standings page and in the challenge leagues, the usernames of people playing in the game are all linked. Why? |
Each player in the contest has a profile for public viewing. A player's profile provides information about them including their customized jersey, awards won, and more.
If you are not friends with that player, some features will be turned off - you will not be able to view some of their personal information, you will not be able to challenge them to head to head matchups and you cannot post on their message wall.
Becoming friends with other players in the game enables these features from within the Profile page. |
| 3. WHY CAN'T I LOGIN? |
When this happens, the problem almost always has to do with either the browser configuration or security software (firewall). Try resetting your security software or browser configuration to enable/accept "cookies."
The website keeps track of users by saving small, temporary files to your computer called "cookies." These "session" cookie files are deleted from the computer when the browser is closed and the browser session is completed. But web browsers like Internet Explorer realize that some users are exceptionally security conscious and wish to disable cookies, or prevent them from being saved on the user's computer.

| 4. Will you give me "automatic picks" EVERY time I forget or am unable to make my picks? |
| No, we will provide you with "automatic picks" (all the road teams) a MAXIMUM of three times throughout the season. Once you have exceeded the maximum allotment of automatic picks, you will no longer be given all the road teams and will earn no points for that round. |
| 5. Why aren't all the games being played this week listed for making my picks? |
For PRO Experts Club games, we only use those games that are played on the weekends so that the picking deadline is consistent.
For College Experts Club games, we try to highlight the best matchups each weekend and focus on the Athlon Sports Top 25. |
| 6. I don't see any Thursday or Saturday games listed, why is that? |
| Depending on the game you are playing, we may not have scheduled any Thursday or Saturday games. We schedule some contests this way to have a consistent deadline for entering your picks each week.
|
| 7. What is the StatCast™ link all about? What is it showing me? |
StatCast™ shows statistical match-up data for the two teams involved in the game you are being asked to predict.
It shows data like Rushing Offense, Passing Offense, Rushing and Passing Defense and Scoring Offense and Defense for both teams in a side-by-side comparison.
It will also show trend data for each team's last three games, when applicable, as well as how both teams have fared against common opponents.
Finally, it will also show picking trends to indicate how everyone else in your contest is picking that matchup. The question is, do you go with the flow, or look for the upset? |
| 8. What are the flame and snowflake icons next to some of the teams when I try to make my picks? |
| They are indicators to tell you if a team is hot (has won 3 or more games in a row) or cold (has lost 3 or more games in a row). |
| 9. I'm not getting my picks confirmation email, what should I do? |
| The best thing to do is print your picks confirmation page (appears immediately after you submit your picks). Then, try adding expertsclub@athlonsports.com to your list of allowed addresses to make sure it's not being blocked. |
| 10. I think you recorded one of my picks wrong! What can I do? |
| Easy enough, just send us your picks confirmation email or picks confirmation page (email to expertsclub@athlonsports.com or fax to 615-327-1149) and be sure to include the verification string.
We'll research it and get back to you right away. |
| 11. I don't understand the scoring system. And what's up with your bonus game? |
| Fair enough, we do things a little differently around here.
We give you 100 points for each game in which you correctly predict the winner.
For the bonus game, you can earn up to 100 points based on how accurately you predict the score.
If you predict the correct winning team based on your predicted score of both teams in the Bonus Game, the difference between your predicted score for both teams and what they actually scored in the game is added together and subtracted from 100. If you do not predict the winning team in the Bonus Game, you earn no bonus points.
Example:
When correctly predicting the winning team . . .
Player A predicts: Bluehats 27, Redshoes 20
Actual score: Bluehats 17, Redshoes 3
Tiebreaker score: 100 - (10+17) = 73
When incorrectly predicting the winning team . . .
Player B predicts: Redshoes 14, Bluehats 13
Actual score: Bluehats 17, Redshoes 3
Tiebreaker score: 0 (you didn't correctly predict the winner)

| 12. Can I be in more than 5 challenge leagues? Or, can I have more than 100 people in my challenge league? |
| Unfortunately, challenge leagues created by game participants are limited to 5, 10, 20, 50, or 100 players. Additionally, you may may be a member of a maximum of 5 challenge leagues. |
