Cedric Benson, RB, Bengals
The No. 4 overall pick of the Bears in 2005, Benson was run out of town after rushing for only 1,593 yards and 10 touchdowns over three seasons. But after signing with Cincinnati last season, Benson finally had his redemption game against Chicago during a 45-10 blowout. Running with a chip on his shoulder and getting stronger as the game wore on, Benson had 37 carries for 189 yards (5.1 ypc) and one touchdown. The performance makes Benson the NFL's leading rusher, with 164 carries for 720 yards (4.4 ypc) and five touchdowns while helping carry the Bengals to a 5-2 start.
Miles Austin, WR, Cowboys
He may not be Michael Irvin or T.O., but Austin produced better than any receiver in the league with a six-catch, 171-yard (28.5 ypc), two-TD day during a 37-21 victory over the Falcons. In his past two games, Austin has 16 receptions for 421 yards and four scores in wins against Kansas City and Atlanta. To put the production of Tony Romo's new go-to guy in perspective, Austin had just 18 catches for 354 yards and three touchdowns during his first three seasons in the NFL.
Will Witherspoon, LB, Eagles
Acquired from the Rams just six days before the Eagles' 27-17 Monday night win over the Redskins, Witherspoon made the best of his new situation in Philadelphia. The 29-year-old recorded eight tackles, including one sack, with one forced fumble and an interception returned nine yards for a touchdown in his Eagles debut -- which happened to be the second time he's played against the Skins, having recorded 10 tackles for St. Louis in a Week 2 loss to Washington.
